2012 Stark County Dairy Princess & Sweetheart Applications

Candidates for Stark County Dairy Princess and Dairy Sweetheart must meet the following qualifications:
1. Female, age 16-20 years of age by June 1, 2012 for Stark County Dairy Princess.
2. Female, age 7-9 years of age by June 1, 2012 for Stark County Dairy Sweetheart.
3. The Dairy Princess candidate must live and/or work on a dairy farm or have shown dairy cattle and/or dairy feeders at the Stark County Fair for 5 or more years.
4. The Dairy Sweetheart candidate must live on a dairy farm.
5. Single, never married or lived with a male in lieu of a marriage contract or has never entered into any marriage ceremony, even though it was later terminated by annulment, dissolution, or divorce.
6. Not now nor have ever been pregnant.
7. Never been convicted of a felony, or misdemeanor involving drugs or alcohol.
8. Be able to represent the Stark County Dairy Industry in a positive manner including public appearances and educational programs.

Why do we have an Open House? To educate the community on the many roles veterinarians plays in today’s society.

Who attends the Open House? Close to 3,000 people attended last year’s open house ranging from families with children, including organizations like 4-H Youth Development, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; high school and undergraduate students interested in veterinary medicine; pet owners; and clients.

What kinds of events and activities take place? Displays ranging from Food and Fiber animals to the Ohio Farm Bureau, demonstrations, seminars and lectures; panel discussions; fun, hands-on activities for children, including a visit from Brutus Buckeye; tours of the VMC and other areas of the college; music; food vendors; exhibits, and much more.

When does the Open House take place? Saturday, May 19th at 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Who plans the Open House? The Open House is planned by Student Council Members along with the Office of Student Affairs.
