2014 PAS Rules/Requirements and Posted Patterns

Performance Against Standards – PAS

Horse project members may choose to participate in Performance Against Standards (PAS) Show(s) to quality to participate in the State Fair Horse Show.
A member may show in a maximum of four classes and must qualify in two classes to show at the State Fair. Members that qualify in more than two classes must select
the two classes they intend to show in at the State Fair. Visit – http://horse.osu.edu/ .
Horse participants must be at the Intermediate or Advanced level of Competition to try-out/qualify for State Competition.
Our Stark County PAS Qualifier will be held on June 21st at Massillon Saddle Club at 10am.  Stop out to support your local 4H’er and enjoy some family fun!  Great concessions will be available.  Limited Open Classes will also be offered.

WIN a FREE Milkshake at the Fair!

“Fair Through My Eyes” Photography Contest

NEW RULES FOR 2011!! (We finally made it digital!)

1. Open to any junior fair member (4-H, FFA, Grange and Scouts) ages 9 thru 19.

2. Using a digital device (digital camera, cell phone, etc.) take your pictures of the 2011 Stark County Fair from Monday, August 29 thru Friday, September 2, 2011. Have your pictures printed in standard 4”x6” prints.

3. You can submit up to five (5) 4”x6” prints. NO memory sticks, cell phones or CDs will be accepted. Only 1 envelope (up to five prints) per participant. Envelopes can be picked up inside the Stark County Jr. Fair Board Office. DEADLINE to enter your pictures will be Friday, September 2, 2011 at NOON in the Stark County Jr. Fair Board Office. No late entries will be accepted.

4. There will be a drop-off box in the Jr. Fair Board Office. You must use the designated envelope to enter up to five (5) 4”x6” prints. Complete the information on the front of the envelope and seal all 5 of your photos inside the envelope. Deposit your completed
envelope in the drop box. Please be sure to list a phone number that you can be easily reached at during the fair such as a cell phone number.

5. A Grand Prize of $25 cash will be given to the overall Champion Print. Ribbons will be awarded to the top three (3) places in each age division along with a coupon for on FREE milkshake from the Jr. Fair Milkshake Stand. The judge’s decision is final.

6. All winners will be called and will be able to pick-up their prizes at the Jr. Fair Board Concession Stand. All entries will be displayed during the fair in the 4-H Exhibit Hall.

7. Any photos that have been altered by any photo editing or enhancing program will not be accepted and the entry will be disqualified. Original, untouched photos only.

Age Divisions:
Junior Division: Ages 9-11
Intermediate Division: Ages 12-14
Senior Division: Ages 15-19

Awards:
Overall Champion: $25 cash + Rosette
Per Division:
1st Place: Free milkshake + 1st Place Ribbon
2nd Place: Free milkshake + 2nd Place Ribbon
3rd Place: Free milkshake + 3rd Place Ribbon

2010 Stark County Fair Traditional Photo Contest

The Traditional Photo Contest at the 2010 Stark County Fair is where the junior fair member takes a photo in Stark County that depicts agriculture or urban life in keeping with the theme.

Theme: “Country Life”

Requirements:
Photos must be taken between October 1, 2009 and the opening of the 2010 Stark County Fair.

Photos must be 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, or 16×20 in color or black and white.

Photos must be properly mounted and matted. Not framed.

Member’s name, address, age, date photo taken and location of the taken must be on the back of the matted board. A 3×5 card with the member’s name and club name must accompany the photo.

The member is limited to 5 entries.

Age divisions are as follows:

Junior  Ages 9-12
Intermediate Ages 13-16
Senior  Ages 17 and up

The pictures must be turned in on the Monday, August 30, 2010, by 5 p.m. to the Jr. Fair Office. They are judged that evening. All photos hang in the 4H building until fair is over.

Grand prize is a digital camera.
