Important Camping Announcement!! PLEASE READ!!

Hello All Junior Fair Campers.

This week, the 2019 Jr. Fair Camping Contracts went into the mail.  Enclosed with the contract is a letter that outlines some of the changes for the 2019 Season.  Please note that the $100 deposit is due back by May 1, 2019 to hold your spot for the fair.  Deposits received after the May 1st deadline will cause you to be placed in the que with the new campers and may result in the loss of your assigned spot.

If you want to move spots, please contact us.  We will not be moving anyone until after the May 1st deadline has passed.  We will then proceed by placing new campers in open spots followed by change requests in the order they were received.

In addition, you have been placed in the spot you used in 2018.  If you are not camping, please let us know so that we can assign that spot to someone else.  Also, if you are using a different camper, it is your responsibility to make sure it will fit in the designated spot.  I recommend letting us know ASAP any size changes in campers.  It is much easier to move you now, rather than at the fair.

Thanks all

Dale W. Wells, Camping Committee Chair

Notes in November

Welcome to November!

As we start this month of gratitude, I wanted to express my sincere thanks to the Parents, Committees, Senior Fair Board and Members of the Stark County Junior Fair Program.  We had a fabulous fair this year and you all made my first year as Coordinator much easier than I could have ever anticipated!

This month at the fairgrounds we are working on revising project rules, electing new officers, planning and coordinating educational opportunities and making repairs to the grounds.  I have been updating the calendar with meetings and events.  If you would like to attend a Senior Fair Board meeting, Livestock Committee meeting or Junior Fair Board meeting to see what goes on behind the scenes, you will find information on the calendar.  Meetings are open to the public, please feel free to stop in and see what life is like behind the scenes.

I will not be holding regular office hours during the off-season, but am available via email at jrfair@starkcountyfair.com.  I am at the fairgrounds for all committee meetings.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Julie

“Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you’ll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you’ll find that you have more of it.” ~ Ralph Marston

November Funnies! 🙂

Junior Fair Board Advisors Needed!

The Junior Fair Board was created to provide young adults with an opportunity to develop leadership skills, perform community service, and become aware of business and the operations of Agricultural District Fairs. Today, this Junior Fair Board has grown in both size and responsibilities to meet the challenges offered to these young men and women.

As many as forty members are selected to volunteer throughout the year on behalf of the Stark County Fair. Their year-round efforts include assisting at Fair events, providing outreach, assisting Fair visitors who may have special needs, and planning, developing and coordinating many popular Fair contests. These Fair contests include the Pedal Tractor Pulls, a Pizza Eating Contest, Barn Games and more. In addition, members may visit other Fairs around the State representing the Stark County Fair and bringing back fresh ideas and enthusiasm.  Our Junior Fair Board members also attend conventions and trainings each year as we strive to “Make the Best Better”.   Our Junior Fair is made up of members of 4-H, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Grange and FFA.

The Junior Fair Board is under the immediate direction and supervision of a minimum of three and a maximum of five adult Advisors who are approved by the Stark County Senior Fairboard.  We are looking to add to our Junior Fair Board Advisor team.  If you have a passion for working with the youth and molding them into the leaders of tomorrow, we encourage you to apply.  We will be accepting applications through the end of September.  Please feel free to ask questions, observe a meeting and see what it’s all about.

Applications are available here: Junior Fair Board Advisor Application

Paper applications are also available at the Junior Fair Office
