Volunteer and 4H Community Service Opportunities

A Volunteer and 4H Community Service Opportunity:  Please review and contact if you are looking for a 4-H Club Community Service Project.

This was started by a Stark County 4-H Family, Alliance area…

David Crawford

I am a volunteer with an amazing charity called The Valentine Project.  We are located in Stark County, Ohio, and were co-founded by two former 4-H members.  As a former 4-H member myself, I am familiar with the 4-H pledge, which includes to  “pledge my hands to larger service.”   I am writing about a wonderful volunteer opportunity for 4-H members and clubs within their community.

Started by two siblings from Alliance, Ohio, The Valentine Project has been sending care packages of hope, love, and joy to children whose lives are affected by cancer or a chronic illness since 2011. To this day, we are a volunteer-driven nonprofit who currently sends care packages from volunteers — we call them Valentines<> — all over the world to children in Ohio and the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2017, more than 850 children received a care package from The Valentine Project.  This year we expect to deliver more than 1,000 packages!

Volunteer opportunities are year-round and are very much needed as our charity continues to grow.  We look forward to the possibility of partnering with 4-H to serve the needs of our community.

Thank you,

Celia Esber

Outreach Coordinator
