Stark County JR. Fair Breeding Project Flock Starter Program

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

A breeder of Wensleydale wool breed is sponsoring a flock starter program for Stark Co. 4-H members interested in a sheep project. The Breeder will be giving a ewe lamb to an essay winner.

We feel privileged to work in an industry that places so much importance on today’s youth. Competition is healthy, but it is what our children learn in the barn that will last them a lifetime. We are strong advocates of showing livestock as it promotes and teaches good work ethics, responsibility, leadership, and an appreciation for agriculture that will follow 4-H members into their adulthood.

In an effort to promote the sheep breeding industry and youth involvement, the sponsoring breeder will be selecting an essay winner that is new or has carried a sheep project to receive a Wensleydale ewe lamb. Interested person need to fill out the application below and a 250 word essay. Deadline: April 10, 2010.
