Q: What is the difference between a llama and an  alpaca?
A:  Size is the biggest difference – an alpaca is about 1/2 the  size of a llama.

Q: Do they spit?
A: Yes, at each other – it is  a dominance thing.

Q: What kind of personality do they have?
A: Personalities vary – from very friendly to “leave me alone”.  In  general, they tend to be curious, but cautious.

Q: Do they make noise?
A: Yes, they will “hum” when  they are curious, they “cluck” when they see llamas they don’t know, and they  will “alarm” when they see another animal in their territory. 

Q: What do you use them for? 
A: Showing, parades,  4-H, guards for smaller animals, packing and fiber.
