First Year

  • Check out Showmanship Clinics: . This clinic will provide you with the skills and information you need to present your market animal at the fair.
  • Entry Forms: All Jr. Fair entries are due by the deadline.
  • Skillathon & Market Beef Weigh-In: The skillathon will be located in the new show arena across from the dairy barn. Market beef weigh-in will be located in the beef barn. Please have your record books and Drug Use Notification Forms filled out. Forms must be turned in at this time.
  • Market Beef Showmanship and Show: Market Beef Showmanship (MANDATORY) – Animals will be shown un-groomed. Fitting is not permitted.
    • As a first year steer project exhibitor you will be grouped into a showmanship class based on you age as of January 1st.
    • First year senior showmanship 13 years and up
    • First year junior showmanship 9 – 12 years
  • Market Beef Show – Show order will start with breeds in alphabetical order; crossbreds will show last. The champion and Res. Champion from each breed will come back in to compete for champion and Res. Champion market beef. The remaining breed champions will be selected by the judge as the top 10 market beef animals.
  • At the Fair: The beef committee will assign spaces for grooming chutes. We have a limited number of spaces for chutes.YOU are responsible for the feeding and caring of your market beef projects. Please keep your animals area clean and provide fresh water daily. Please help keep our barn clean, it is very important to keep the isles free of bedding and other debris. By keeping the barn the public will see how well we care about our animals and there surroundings.For any up to the date information stop by the sitting in the beef barn where we will post events and activities that will be taking place at the fair.If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call a steer committee member.
